What would be the best way to go about doing this? At this point it is something we are looking to do ONLY for ground shipping, but in theory, would be wanting to do for express as well (possibly have each service on a different tab?) Obviously, i realize that 708 charts at 211 (+/-) lines each chart, is A LOT of data. But shipping from 91311 to 73301 would be a zone 6. So in looking at the attached file, we would look at shipping from 91311 to 91605 would be a Zone 2.
I have attached a sample of what ONE of the 708 different possible zone charts would be (tab 91000-91899) and what we would want the final calculations to look like (tab zone calc) Everything is based on the first 3 digits of a zip code. What I want to create is the ability to type in two random zip codes in excel, and have there be a calculation done through excel to tell me what zone the shipment would be considered. UPS and Fedex both have zone calculators available where I can type in my starting zip code, and the website will tell us based off of that initial zip what shipping 'zone' other parts of the country are in.
